Staff Testimonials

I joined Innovating Minds as I saw this as an opportunity to do a job I love, for a company who shared my desire to support those with mental health difficulties, following a framework of values that have often underpinned my previous roles.

I qualified in 2009 from The University of Liverpool, following which I took a position with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team in Birmingham, a role that I thoroughly enjoyed for 7 years. Following the arrival of my twin boys I needed to find a better work/life balance, I have found this working for a company that I believe is the future of mental health services.

Dr Zoe Cross - Clinical Psychologist

Started 6 months ago and my confidence and knowledge has increased incredibly. Every day is different, and I learn something new all the time.

I have been lucky enough to be supported by Innovating minds on an Apprenticeship CIPD level 3 course and feel part of a team even though I am not a Psychologist, I still feel included. Absolutely love working here and look forward to coming to work and feel so proud to be part of this amazing team.

Tracey Harber - Office Administrator

I joined Innovating Minds as an Assistant Psychologist in August 2017, since joining the organisation I have been presented with countless new experiences, opportunities and challenges.

Dr Asha Patel has significantly supported my growth, as both a professional and an individual, enabling me to transition into a Senior Assistant Psychologist and Relationship Development Manager role.

The organisation actively encourages a healthy work-life balance, offers flexibility, holds positive values and makes you feel extremely valued as an individual. Most importantly, the team is empowering and there is a culture of open communication and collaboration. I love being a part of Innovating Minds and the work we do.

Heather Ellender - Senior Assistant Psychologist & Relationship Development Manager

I could not be happier with my decision to come and work as an Assistant Psychologist at Innovating Minds CIC. I really appreciate that I have been given the freedom to work independently (but with support) on my project and build it as I see fit.

The opportunity to learn has also been vast and enjoyable. My supervisor and Dr Asha Patel (the CEO) are both incredible to work with. They allow you the flexibility to build the experiences you need, are supportive and are keen to help you get into the Doctorate, if that is something you wish to do.

Finally, the organisation's ethos is something I really wanted to be a part of: it is inspiring and empowering. People here are passionate about what we do. I can honestly say I love my job and feel that I am making a difference in the lives of others, whilst progressing towards my goals.

Aleisha Talbot - Assistant Psychologist

I have only worked with Innovating Minds CIC for a brief time, however, I have been highly impressed at the creativity and ambition shown by the team from the very beginning.

I have been made to feel incredibly welcome, and it is clear that every single team member is valued for their individuality, skills and ideas. I have been struck by how Asha and the team have created a service that enables psychologists to utilise all of the skills acquired in training without coming up against the barriers often encountered when working in other sectors, which allows for much greater job satisfaction. I am very excited to see what the future holds for this fantastic team.

Dr Emma Clarkson - Clinical Psychologist

Working at Innovating Minds has been such a valuable and fulfilling experience where I feel that my values and principles as a Counselling Psychologist are closely aligned with the vision of the organisation.

I've felt valued, respected and trusted with the work I do, and it's a liberating experience to be able to do the work of helping people in a way that isn't stifled or limited. I've loved being able to be creative in my approach to problem-solving, but most importantly I've loved working with the young people within my sphere.

It's nice to know that I can have that clinical interaction whilst also working with the systems surrounding young people, which ensures that the work we do with them is long-lasting. That makes coming in to work all the more enjoyable and meaningful.
